One of the best parts of Fall entertaining is building a dining tablescape, if we do say so ourselves here at Kittelberger Florist & Gifts. There's nothing quite like the instant immersion into the new season you get when you create a new look for your dining room, changing out linens, candles and decor and reminiscing about seasons past. In the run up to Thanksgiving, you may be called upon to host other dinners, or simply want your table to reflect the spirit of the harvest. A centerpiece is the single most important item you can grace your table with. Everything else in your table decor will follow from the standard it sets. Read on to find our top tablescaping tips. The decorating possibilities in October are second to none. Not only is it time to signal, through decor items, that autumn is here, but there's Halloween to pay homage to as well. Making our homes and work places as beguiling as possible is about as fun as it gets--you can be whimsical and imaginative, taking a sinister approach or keeping to a more lighthearted one. If you're more inclined to a polished style, Kittelberger Florist & Gifts has a great design for an elegant and modern Halloween table. We're thinking the dining one--let the kitchen table have its pumpkins, skulls and ghosties. Read More about Halloween Flowers That Are Anything But Creepy »
There are few things more American than the Fourth of July, and if they are more American, we probably include them in our Independence Day celebrations. It's a day devoted to classic American pastimes like grilling out on the lake or tossing the football around in the backyard. Even our fare is deeply traditional, the menu sure to include such delights as hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, cole slaw and cherry pie. We're with friends and family, feeling the relaxed vibes of summer, anticipating the fireworks display that will cap off the long, easy afternoon. Kittelberger Florist loves all of the tradition---and the majesty---of Independence Day. But we also think the flowers we use to decorate our homes (or to give to our hostess) can be a little more independent themselves. Read More about Independence Day’s Awesome Flower Show »
It's about that time to celebrate all the dads in our lives, be they young or young at heart. While there's no one-size-fits-all gift appropriate for every single father out there, Kittelberger Florist feels it can safely say that a good grill game is universally appreciated among the dad set. And if it isn't, a good love of barbecue seems the next best bet. This June 17 presents the perfect opportunity to deliver some smoky goodness to that dad in your life who belongs to the barbecue sauce of the month club or who is constantly checking out the grills at the hardware store. The flowers we bring to the table or to an event on Memorial Day have a lot of work to do. They must capture the spirit of the occasion---no easy feat. On May 28th, we remember those troops who died in service to country. We come together at commemorative parades and celebrations, we visit grave sites, we recall the legacy of our loved ones for the children who never met them. But Memorial Day is also thought of as that moment when we are on the cusp of summer. We look forward to the three-day weekend, planning dinners, barbecues and outdoor parties that will connect us with the people in our lives now. So, the flowers we set out or offer on such a day have to both reflect a sense of poignancy and speak to a spirit of festivity and family. Luckily, Kittelberger Florist is well-versed in the language of flowers. Read More about Perfect Memorial Day Flowers »

In honor of Mother's Day, Kittelberger Florist is spotlighting one of our home-grown own moms and flower experts. She tells us which flowers moms really want on May 13th.
Name: Kim Baird
Kids first names & ages: Twin girls, Taryn and Camryn, 20.
How did you get into floral work?
I started working part-time as my girls got older. I was drawn to Kittelberger’s, since I had a background in art, a strong interest in interior design and based on the feeling I got every time I stepped into the store. Read More about On Motherhood And Flowers »

Earth Day is orbiting back around again this April 22, and our community is offering dozens and dozens of ways to participate, from expos designed for the kids to green projects, parades and runs. No doubt many of us will find our way to recycling drives and clean-ups, too, and if we're truly lucky, we'll be outside in nature, celebrating our great planet with friends and family. Indeed, we'll be joined by millions of other celebrants worldwide. Earth Day is a truly global event. Kittelberger Florist & Gifts looks forward to any day that promotes environmental awareness and reminds us to be good stewards of our beautiful planet. Read More about The Perfect Earth Day Flowers »
